India’s star all-rounder, Hardik Pandya, has returned to the top three in the ICC T20I all-rounder rankings following his exceptional performance against Bangladesh. In the first T20I, Hardik took a wicket and delivered a power-packed 39* off 16 balls, helping India chase down 128. His brilliant all-round display catapulted him to third place, just behind England’s Liam Livingstone and Nepal’s Dipendra Singh Airee.
Arshdeep Singh, leading India’s bowling attack, also made significant strides, breaking into the top 10 in the T20I bowling rankings for the first time. He now holds the eighth spot after taking three wickets in the series opener, achieving a career-high rating of 642 points. Arshdeep’s consistent performances have made him an integral part of India’s T20I squad, particularly with senior pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj being rested.
Reflecting on his quick rise, Arshdeep mentioned, “I am enjoying my game and didn’t even realize how these two years flew by.” With 55 T20Is under his belt, including two World Cups, Arshdeep has firmly established himself as one of India’s most promising bowlers in the shortest format.
Washington Sundar also made gains in the bowling rankings, moving up four places to 35th after his contribution in the first T20I. The second match of the series, set at Arun Jaitley Stadium, promises to be a high-scoring affair, with teams frequently surpassing 200 runs in recent IPL matches at the venue. India will aim to seal the series victory in this encounter.
