LoL Worlds 2024: Skins, Anthem, Pick`Ems And Spellbook Mode

On September 25, the 2024 League of Legends World Championship will kick off, marking the highlight of the 2024 esports season. This highly anticipated event is expected to attract hundreds of thousands of League of Legends fans from around the globe, all tuning in to watch the action unfold.

Worlds 2024 promises to be not just a celebration of competitive gaming but also a treasure trove of exciting content. To keep you informed, we’ve gathered all the information about what Riot Games has in store for the tournament, including the highly sought-after Worlds 2024 Skins, the Worlds 2024 Battle Pass, and the official Anthem.

Worlds 2024 Skins

No League of Legends World Championship would be complete without exclusive skins, and this year is no exception. Riot Games is set to launch a range of new cosmetic items in conjunction with the championship, ensuring that fans have plenty to look forward to as the event begins.

The standout skin for Worlds 2024 will be the Worlds 2024 Viego skin, set to launch in-game on September 25, coinciding with patch 14.19 and the tournament’s opening day. Priced at 1350 RP, this exclusive skin will be available in the in-game store for a limited time.

Additionally, Victorious Sona will also make her debut during Worlds 2024. While she doesn’t carry the official Worlds 2024 title, her release date suggests a connection to the championship. Victorious Sona will be introduced alongside patch 14.19 on Wednesday, September 25. The pricing details for this skin are still under wraps, but it’s likely to be one of the rewards for the Event Pass, which we’ll discuss further below.

Beyond these skins, Riot Games is set to unveil even more content. The Fright Night 2024 skin line will be released alongside the World Championship, and additional skins are expected to be announced on October 23 with patch 14.21.

During significant League of Legends events like Hall of Legends and Anima Squad 2024, special limited-time events take place, accompanied by Event Passes (or Battle Passes, as some prefer). As the largest event of the year, Worlds 2024 will feature its own dedicated Event and Event Pass.

The **Worlds 2024 Event Pass** will be available for purchase in the League of Legends store starting September 25, in conjunction with patch 14.19.

As is customary, the Event Pass will come in various purchase options, each offering distinct rewards:

  • Worlds 2024 Battle Pass – 1650 RP ($12.69)
  • Worlds 2024 Battle Pass Bundle – 2650 RP ($20.38)
  • Worlds 2024 Battle Pass Premium Bundle – 3650 RP ($28.08)

Each Worlds 2024 Event Pass features its own initial rewards. In total, there will be 50 levels of rewards available, along with a temporary store where players can exchange Worlds 2024 tokens for valuable cosmetic items, blue and orange essence, champion shards, and more.

Ultimate Spellbook Mode: Release Date & Overview

During Worlds 2024, League of Legends players can experience a temporary game mode, a tradition for Riot Games during major events. This was also seen earlier in 2024 during the Swarm Event.

From September 25 to November 2, the Spellbook Mode will be available during the LoL World Championship. This non-competitive mode allows players to select the ultimate ability of one randomly chosen champion instead of their second Summoner Spell.

While it’s unlikely that Ultimate Spellbook will be made a permanent mode like ARAM, the possibility can’t be completely dismissed.

Worlds 2024 Anthem

Riot Games unveils a new Anthem each year, and the premiere for the Worlds 2024 anthem will take place on September 24.

Riot is keeping the identity of this year’s performer under wraps, which is understandable given the excitement surrounding the announcement. To give you a bit of nostalgia, here’s a recap of the artists who performed the anthems in previous years:

  • 2014Warriors by Imagine Dragons
  • 2015Worlds Collide by Nicky Taylor
  • 2016Ignite by Zedd
  • 2017Legends Never Die by Against the Current & Chrissy Constanza
  • 2018Rise by The Glitch Mob, Mako, and The Word Alive
  • 2019Phoenix by Cailin Russo and Chrissy Constanza
  • 2020Take Over by Jeremy McKinnon, Max, and Henry
  • 2021Burn It All Down by Riot Music Team ft. PVRIS
  • 2022STAR WALKIN’ by Lil Nas X, produced by Cirkut, Omer Fedi, and Lil Nas X
  • 2023GODS ft. NewJeans (뉴진스), produced by Sebastien Najand and Alex Seaver of Mako

Feel free to share in the comments who you’d like to see perform the Worlds 2024 Anthem. Personally, I’m betting on Linkin Park, and there are already rumors circulating about this!

Worlds 2024 Pick’Ems Duration

One of the exciting activities during Worlds 2024 will be Pick’Ems, running from September 18 to 24 and organized into different stages.

The Worlds 2024 Pick’Ems will consist of two phases: Pick’Ems and Crystal Ball. The mechanics will follow the traditional format for this type of event. Participants will need to predict match outcomes, champion picks, and various in-game events, earning points for each correct prediction.

At the conclusion of the Pick’Ems, you can use your accumulated points to purchase cosmetic items and other rewards.

That’s a glimpse of the content we can look forward to during Worlds 2024, which will take place from September 25 to November 2. However, Riot may have more surprises in store, which we’ll discover in due time.
