France international Alphonse Areola played a key role in West Ham United’s UEFA Europa Conference League triumph in June 2023, featuring in every match of the campaign.
A decorated player, Areola has won numerous trophies with Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, and the French national team. He developed his skills at France’s prestigious Clairefontaine academy before playing for some of Europe’s top clubs.
After a stint with Fulham, Areola joined West Ham in 2021, becoming the club’s go-to goalkeeper for cup competitions. He helped the Hammers reach the UEFA Europa League semi-finals in 2021/22 and lifted the Conference League trophy the following season.
