Destiny Udogie joined Tottenham Hotspur from Udinese in August 2022.
Initially, he returned to Italy on loan for the 2022/23 season, but he made a significant impact upon his arrival in N17 for the 2023/24 campaign. Right from the start, Udogie was integrated into Ange Postecoglou’s starting XI, making his Premier League debut in the opening match against Brentford. He quickly garnered attention for his defensive strength and powerful forward runs. In recognition of his performances, he signed a new contract extending until 2030 in December 2023.
During the 2023/24 season, Udogie made 30 appearances in all competitions, including 28 starts in the Premier League. He scored goals in victories against Newcastle and Brentford and provided three assists. His impressive displays earned him a spot on the shortlist for the Premier League’s Young Player of the Season award, though a quadriceps injury cut his season short in April 2024.
Udogie earned his first senior cap for Italy against Malta in October 2023. Just a few days later, he showcased his talent in a Euro 2024 qualifier against England at Wembley Stadium.
Having progressed through the ranks at Hellas Verona, Udogie made his professional debut in November 2020. The following year, he joined Udinese on loan, a move that became permanent in July 2022. In his debut season with the Italian side, he made 37 appearances across all competitions and scored five goals.
An international at the Under-21 level for Italy, Udogie received his first cap in September 2021 during a European Championship qualifying match against Luxembourg. His strong performances in the 2023/24 season led to his first senior call-up, where he made his debut against Malta. By the end of the 2023/24 season, he had earned three caps for the national team.
