Striker Dominic Solanke joined Tottenham Hotspur from AFC Bournemouth in August 2024.
He began his career at Chelsea, progressing through the youth ranks and playing a significant role in several youth team triumphs. His standout performances earned him a first-team debut in October 2014 against NK Maribor in the UEFA Champions League, making him the youngest player in Chelsea’s history to participate in the competition.
In August 2015, Dominic went on loan to Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem, where he made 26 appearances and scored seven goals across all competitions.
A clinical and powerful forward, he returned to Chelsea after his loan stint and subsequently joined Liverpool before the 2017/18 season, making his debut for the Merseyside club the following month. During his time at Anfield, he made 27 senior appearances and netted his first Premier League goal in May 2018 against Brighton.
In January 2019, Dominic transferred to Bournemouth, where he made 10 appearances during the second half of the season. He became a regular feature for the Cherries in the subsequent campaign and finished the 2020/21 season as the club’s joint top goalscorer in the Championship. The 2021/22 season proved to be his most prolific yet, as he scored 29 goals in 46 appearances, leading the Championship’s scoring chart. His contributions helped Bournemouth secure promotion back to the Premier League, and he earned selections for both the 2021/22 EFL Championship Team of the Year and the PFA Championship Team of the Year.
Over his time on the south coast, Dominic made 216 appearances for Bournemouth, scoring 77 goals. In the previous season, he participated in all 38 of their Premier League matches, finishing as the joint fourth-highest goalscorer in the league with 19 goals. His outstanding form culminated in his first senior hat-trick against Nottingham Forest, earning him the Premier League Player of the Month Award for December 2023.
On the international stage, Dominic has represented England at various youth levels. In 2014, he played a key role in the Young Lions’ triumph at the Under-17 UEFA European Championship, finishing the tournament as a joint top scorer with four goals. Three years later, he was instrumental in England’s success at the Under-20 FIFA World Cup, where his exceptional performances earned him the Golden Ball award as the tournament’s best player. Dominic made his senior England debut in November 2017, coming off the bench in a friendly match against Brazil at Wembley Stadium.
