Full Time

Game 1: Weibo Strikes First The opening game saw a failed dive from LNG in the bot lane, leading to a two-for-two exchange, favorable to Weibo despite starting a man down. LNG struggled early on, particularly Zika’s Renekton, but they found a way back after securing crucial objectives like the Voidgrubs. However, Weibo’s superior macro decisions, particularly trading Hextech Soul for Baron Nashor, set them up for success. After LNG failed to defend the Baron push, Weibo closed out the game in just 31 minutes.

Game 2: LNG Answers Back The second game saw a role reversal, with LNG securing the early advantage after a bot lane re-gank that netted them two kills. LNG maintained control throughout the early game and punished Weibo’s attempts to secure objectives like the second Drake. Although Weibo once again stole Baron and threatened a comeback, they overextended inside LNG’s base, allowing LNG to take Mountain Soul and win the game, evening out the series.

Game 3: Weibo Takes the Lead Game 3 opened with a chaotic skirmish that initially benefited LNG, but Xiaohu’s Orianna quickly shifted the momentum in Weibo’s favor with several well-timed Shockwaves. Despite LNG briefly stealing Baron, Weibo dominated the subsequent fights, with Light’s standout performance helping them regain control. Weibo closed out the game after a decisive teamfight, putting them up 2-1 in the series.

Game 4: Weibo’s Dominance The final game was a slower-paced affair, but Weibo quickly built a lead after securing early kills. Xiaohu and Light snowballed their advantage, growing their gold lead to nearly 10,000 by the time they secured Baron. Although Scout’s Yone pulled off a triple kill to momentarily stop Weibo’s push, the gap between the teams was too large. Weibo Gaming marched on to victory, taking the series 3-1 and securing a spot in the Worlds 2024 semifinals.

With this victory, Weibo Gaming defied expectations and established themselves as a top-four team at Worlds 2024.
