Worlds 2024 has already begun, and hope emerged, only to wilt again: paiN Gaming lost to PSG Talon by 2–1, with a comeback from the PCS team. The traditional team surprised the world and managed to dominate the squad that has given us so much trouble in recent international competitions.
In the first match, the first blood took 10 minutes to happen, and once it did, paiN Gaming took control of the kills. However, the PSG team remained ahead in gold for a significant amount of time, with a lead of one to two thousand gold. With a 7–1 (this time positive), we controlled the game and dragon stacks, earning us the Infernal Soul!
With control of the fights and a risky but patiently executed Baron, paiN Gaming took a 1–0 lead in the series!
The second match started off much hotter; unfortunately for PSG, the PCS team entered the mid-game with a lot of strength, and Maple managed to go the entire game without dying, finishing 7/0/6 with his Akali at 28 minutes.
The third game was hard-fought, with many map exchanges: paiN secured the first set of Vastilarvas, while PSG got the second set. However, Maple’s Akali showed up again in the mid-game, and with a frag of 7/1/1, the mid-laner demonstrated dominance and secured the second game. We fought hard, but once again, we lost.
MAD Lions KOI crushes Viking Esports
MAD didn’t give Viking Esports any chance: a resounding 2–0, curiously repeating the composition, and the second game was even more overwhelming for the European team. Supa’s Jinx was the standout of the match, almost achieving a pentakill and finishing the series with 20 kills and 2 deaths.
